Bomb in Karachi, Sindh High Court judge killed 9 as target

According to police officials, the bomb was planted in a motorcycle and was detonated by remote control.

Sindh High Court blast in Urdu Bazaar Road and Court Road near the intersection took place. A remote-controlled bomb terror police with the Sindh High Court Senior Judge Justice Maqbool Baqir target vehicle that opinion.

A car, police van and a motorcycle were destroyed in the blast. The explosion also caused damage to nearby buildings.

The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital for treatment.


Earlier, Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon confirmed seven deaths. Talking to reporters by an official of the Rangers, five police officers and a driver died in the Sindh High Court comprising Justice said.

Maqbool Baqir is undergoing treatment in a private hospital and his condition was still being used, Memon said.

"We Maqbool Baqir provide maximum security, and the bombing of his convoy was injured today,'' said Memon.

Baqir was on his way to court when senior police official said the bomb exploded. Was associated with a motorcycle in which the bomb, it was so powerful it damaged nearby shops.

Bomb disposal squad of about eight kilograms of explosives were used in the blast.



AP adds: TTP spokesman Ihsan Ullah Ihsan device using a remote control bomb blast and claimed responsibility for the attack.

"The decision was against the law and harmful to the Mujahideen, as we have attacked the judge in Karachi,'' he said.
