Regarding 150 detainees escaped from prison Indonesia

About 150 prisoners escaped from the jail overcrowded in western Indonesia Thursday, a blackout triggered by others after a riot officers held hostage.

Prison Directorate spokesman Akbar Hadi, while others set fire to the offices of prison inmates, Medan, North Sumatra province Tanjung Gusta Prison in the capital have forced their way.

Police said National Police spokesman Maj. Gen. Ronny Frengky Sompie, 12 terrorist prisoners were among those who escaped were investigating media reports.

Hadi about 15 officers are being held prisoner in jail. But media reports say its normal capacity of about 400 holds 2,400 inmates.


Rioting prisoners without water Thursday morning, leaving the jail knocking out the water pumps that supply that has been triggered by a posting on darkness, Hadi said in a text message.

Thousands of policemen deployed around the jail and fire department fire fighting blockade the streets of Indonesia's third largest city of Medan and other provinces are aligned.
